Indonesia Port Corporatioon I have a business unit of good services segment includes activities stevedoring which market segment to compete with other comapnies. Stevedoring business units owned by the owner of the ship and not as the owner of the goods. To be more competitive and increase market share Indonesia Port Corporation I need to have a strategy, among others, in to optimize and equipment terminal facilities owned by the company.
According to law shipping 17/2008, Indonesia Port Corporation as a port business entity acting as port terminal operator.
Indonesia Port Corporation I, Dumai Port, has many advantages such as a wharf, storage area, loading and unloading equipment, trucking, information technology systems, stevedoring companies, container depots and logistic, and so on. Indonesia Port Corporation I should be able to optimize the utilization and manage of the facilities terminal and equipment by implementing operator terminal system, so that productivity will increase and ships time at the port will be shorter, thus will improve the performance of ports and market share of ships and goods traffic that handled.
At the port, higher productivity and shorter ship time at port it would be better, the port performance and market share and the traffic of ship and cargo will increase by implementing the simple principel that optimization of port facility and equipment at the terminal
