Strategy analysis to increasing of occupancy inland container depo (ICD) port of makassar
Inland Container Depo (ICD) is one of the facilities owned by PT (Persero) Pelabuhan Indonesia IV of Makassar. The Average growth of containers through the Makassar. The average growth of containers through the Makassar Container Terminal 9%, but it is contrary to the ICD occupancy decreased from year to year due to there are some container depot outside the port as a competitor. So that the management of PT (Persero) Pelabuhan Indonesia IV of Makassar needs to review its marketing strategy. This study aims to determine the variables that are strengths, weaknesses, opportinities, and threats, as well as to determine the position of business on IE matrix.
This research method is a combination of qualitative research and quantitative SWOT analysis and matrix based on IE. The population in this study include top management involving several authorities to confirm specifically related to the external environment.
The analysis showed that the variables into force is a very strategic location, adequate, has a human resources professional, fully suported by the management of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia IV (Persero) and have a harmonious relationship with the stakeholders of the company. Opportunity is shown by the growth of container flows is still quite high, + 9% in the last 3 years, the prohibition of warehousing in the city, increasing the potential for other services business activities, opportunities for cooperation with other parties in the use of the ICD. While the threat is the publication of Act 17 of 2008 on the voyage and Goverment Regulation No.61 of 2008 concerning Port, Limitations facilities, extension services bureaucracy, demands from stakehoders to continuosly improve the performance the performance of the service at a cost that is getting cheaper.Based on the results it can be recommended management of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia IV (Persero) of Makassar can implement strategies to enhance service quality and its work porgrams to be implemented in advance in order to retain customers.
