In regards to ports, any forms of service given for both passenger and cargo ships are required to fulfill the standard of safety and security. It has to be of the standard of the port safety and security, in accordace with the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code) which has been established since 2004.
Such a policy settlement is supposed to be conducted since 2004. In fact, not all ports in Indonesia have met the standard conditions based on the policy, resulting on the disinclination or reluctance from international ships to date or to use the facilities provided in those ports. Some ships boarded from those ports are unable or even not allowed to go into the ports in other countries. This fact definitely will disadvantage our country.

Concerning on this matter, the port facilities are highlighted as one of the most important aspects to improve, including the implementation of ISPS Code.
