This document is intended to study the saving cost of RTG, using electrification comparing usage of diesel engine. This study is intended to give an idea of how much costs can be in saving from the use of electrical shore power connection. The big challenge for the management of PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia IV (Persero) especially Makassar Container Terminal to be able to apply the results of this study, where cost can be saved with the conversion of resources into electricity is a very large number.
In this study some of the assumptions used as a calculation tool, to make it easier to obtain the results of the calculation, the provisions on the calculation accuracy also depends on the accuracy of the data. Some calculations also ignored because they will not sinificantly affect the results of the calculation, such as the increase in electricity tariff, the price of fuel and the cost in the event of a breakdown in the engine.
