Descriptive study of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) human resources competency mapping
PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) or Indonesia Port Corporation III is state-owned enterprises which engaged in the logistic sector. The task, the authority, and the responsibility of this company are to manage public harbors in seven Indonesian provinces, i.e.East Java, Central Java, Bali, South Kalimantan, Center Kalimantan, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara.Human capital competency has an important role in port business. To fulfill competency needs, Pelindo III, has a competency model as a reference to map employee competencies that fit to company needs. Based on that competency model, Pelindo III conducted employee assessment to know competency mapping of employees.This paper shows the descriptive study of human resources mapping at Pelindo 111. The study compared the existing competence of employee based on assessment result and minimum proficiency levels of competence. The study was conducted for the 3 competence clusters, such as core competency, managerial competency, and specialist competency.Research finding indicated that for the core competency, the highest gap was self confidence. For the managerial competency, the highest gap was developing others. And for the specialist competency, the highest gap was initiative.Based on this finding, it was recommended that the company have to follow up by training and development programs. The important competencies to be developed are self confidence, developing others, and initiatives. For all employees, the training needs are aimed to improve self confidence competency. For managerial position, it has to improve developing others competency, and for the specialist competency, it has to improve initiative competency.
