A Handbook for supply chain risk management : case studies, effective practices, and emerging trends
The International Supply Chain Risk Management (ISCRIM) network is a team of researchers and practitioners engaged in analyzing, developing, and disseminating
evidence and practices related to the effective and efficient management of supply chains and their associated risks. The international network was founded in 2001 by a small group of active researchers from the UK, U.S., and Sweden. The original purpose of the ISCRIM network was to speed up and improve the quality of research, enhance the pace of dissemination, and widen the scope and volume of activity relating to supply chain risk management. The principle means of achieving these goals has been through sharing and leveraging joint knowledge, experience, skills, and resources within the network. Today, the primary objectives of ISCRIM are to facilitate the rapid advancement of knowledge and understanding of supply chain risk management. The objectives are put into practice through proactive engagement and collaboration among key practitioners and researchers in this evolving field, providing a core of expertise, information, and knowledge that can be accessed by interested practitioners, researchers, and policy makers engaged in supply chain management. Of importance are the risks associated with increasingly complex, global supply chain configurations and the greater risk exposure.
