Power of perspective
Last Friday I walked through Regent’s Park on a crisp, bright spring morning. Stopping to view the tulips and enjoy nature’s best, I saw a fellow traveler sitting on a park bench reading the Times, and couldn’t help noticing the headline ~ “Credit crunch bites deeper”. Today, on a crisp, bright autumn morning in Auckland, I enjoyed the view of Rangitoto as I sipped my coffee and scanned the headlines of the NZ Herald. The front page read: “Three shots end hijack ordeal”, “Man in court over rape of girl, 13”, and “Doctor shortage forces hospital to reject patients”. In the business section, the headlines announced: “Surgical bankruptcy for General Motors”, and “Sentiment linked to health of battered finance sector”.
