Transportation effectiveness and manufacturing firm performance
Transportation is considered an important element of logistics and supply chain success. Yet it is often ignored as a source of competitive advantage. In this study, structural equation modeling is used to examine the impact of inbound and outbound transportation performance in terms of meeting delivery schedules and providing a timely reply to inquiries on the firm's ability to achieve product variety, product quality, manufacturing cost reduction, satisfactory delivery service, and acceptable overall performance.
