Indonesia Consumer electronics report :Includes 5-year forecasts to 2021
We have a bright outlook for consumer electronics device spending growth in Indonesia, and forecast the market will increase at a CAGR of 8.8% over 2017-2021 to a total value of USD14.7bn. Challenging economic conditions 2014-2016 resulted in a contraction in device spending, but as the economic environment strengthens we expect vendors to benefit by tapping into low penetration rates for major product categories such as smartphones and flat-panel TV sets. There is also support from positive demographic trends but uncertainty from the tariff regime and local content requirements are a source of downside, the impact of which will become clear as 2017 progresses.
