Government To Auction Geothermal Capacity
The government of Indonesia plans to offer six geothermal power projects with a combined capacity of 255MW, through an auction in September, according to Jakarta Globe. The projects include Kepahiang and Simbolon Samosir power plants with 110MW capacity each, and 10MW of Borapulu, Lamiding and Oka Ile Ange power plants, respectively, and a 5MW of Mount Sirung plant. Firms from the US, Japan, Turkey, China, Italy and South Korea, and domestic developers are expected to take part in the auction. The projects are estimated to cost USD1.02bn (Think Geo energy).
