South Kalimantan Coal Plants Deal Awarded
Indonesian state-run power producer Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) awarded a USD400mn contract to a consortium comprising Japanese trading house Itochu, South Korea's Hyundai Engineering and local firm Truba Jaya Engineering to build 200MW coal-fired power plants in South Kalimantan. According to the agreement, the consortium will engineer, procure and build two 100MW plants in PLN's existing Kalselteng pow1er station, which currently has four 65MW coal-fuelled power plants. The project will use IHI Corporation's boilers and Fuji Electric's steam turbine power generators. The projects are slated to be completed in 2020 (Reuters).
