Tambak Lorok Power Plant Deal Awarded
Marubeni Corporation, in a consortium with General Electric and local firm Hutama Karya (HK), secured a JPY41bn (USD365mn) engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Indonesia Power for the Tambak Lorok Combined Cycle Power Plant Block 3 Project in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia. The facility will have installed capacity of about 780MW. Under the contract, GE will supply main equipment such as gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators, while Marubeni will provide the remaining equipment, including a heat recovery steam generator, and will also install all the equipment. HK will undertake civil construction. The plant is scheduled to start operating in 2020 (World Construction Network).
