Week Ahead: Vietnam’s GDP Print To Reflect Manufacturing Strength
Vietnam will be releasing its Q317 GDP figures this week and we expect the data to indicate a continued expansion of the economy on the back of a strong manufacturing sector as well as a positive tourism outlook. We forecast both New Zealand and Thailand's central banks to maintain their respective neutral monetary policy stances during their monetary policy meetings amid efforts to strike a balance between slowing the housing market while boosting inflation, and a benign growth-inflation dynamic, respectively. Several countries will be releasing inflation figures and we expect headline consumer price inflation (CPI) to remain on a broad uptrend as various factors such as higher government spending and higher food and fuel prices place upside pressures.
