CSCL operates domes tic coas tal routes and international container line s ervices from China to Japan, Korea, South Eas t As ia, Europe, the Mediterranean, the US, Wes t Africa and the Pers ian Gulf. The carrier is a dominant player in the Chines e freig ht market. The company als o operates multimodal trans port, including a container railway line, China Shipping No. 1, which trans ports ocean-g oing g oods acros s land to key Chines e markets , and is a majority s hareholder in a number of domes tic container terminals .
