French container line and terminal operator CMA CGM is reportedly seeking to increase its expos ure to the Indonesian container shipping market by participating in a new-build port project. One of the main threats to the realis ation of this g rowth in the country is the lack of s upply chain development, which will be required to cater for the projected rise in consumer demand. The line has expressed an interest in developing a hub at the country's lates t planned port project, the port of Karawang , according to Bisnis Indonesia. Indones ia's state port operator PT Persero Pelebuhan Indonesia II (Pelindo II) has stated that it plans to hold a limited tender, inviting five of the main global shipping companies to participate in developing the port.
