What is an inherently good corporation? A “good” corporation has to be successful in economic terms but simultaneously contribute to the environment and strengthen social coherence. Within its various spheres of influence, it has to work according to universal ethical principles. Many corporations already act as a “good” one and without a lot of discussion about it. Yet, there are other…

The Northern Sea Route Regime: Exquisite Superpower Subterfuge?

The Northern Sea Route (NSR) has for decades been one of the most contentious political issues in U.S.–Soviet/Russian Arctic relations. The United States claims that the ice-covered straits are international and subject to the right of transit passage, while Russia claims them as internal waters. Both states invoke national security as one of the more important interests substantiating and wa…

Towards an ‘inland terminal centred’ value proposition
Komentar Bagikan
Roy Van den BergPeter W. de Langen

The two main value propositions in international container transport are ‘port-to-port’ services and ‘door-to-door’ services. In port-to-port services, buyers ‘just’ purchase maritime transport from a shipping line. Door-to-door services comprise the total transport chain and include land-based transport. Carriers as well as forwarders offer these door-to-door services. In this pape…

Disentangling customer orientation – executiveperspective
Komentar Bagikan
Hannu SaarijarviHannu KuuselaKari NeilimoElina Narvanen

Despite the fact that customer orientation is increasingly used as a strategic guideline to ensure companies’ long-term success, it is too often left at conceptual level without any managerial or executive translation. To address this practical gap, the purpose of the paper is to build an executive perspective on customer orientation through the mechanism of customer value dimensions.
